Business and Data Analyst, Ronald Solis, joined the Senior Services team in February. Ronald is a US Air Force Veteran with 11 years of experience working with data analysis, business intelligence and other computer software, maintaining data sets, and building and running data reports. He has a degree in Health Systems Management from UNC Charlotte, and he and his wife recently welcomed their first child, Olivia Marie.
Ronald plays a lead role in compiling agency data and information, troubleshooting ServTracker, and continuing to help Senior Services evolve in how we collect, analyze and use data across the agency. His position with Senior Services impacts every program, department, and service behind the scenes. However, he has also found ways to support Senior Services outside of his job description by delivering Meals-on-Wheels, volunteering with coworkers at the Oddfellows Cemetery, and even modeling for marketing materials for the Williams Adult Day Center.
Here are a few icebreaker questions to help you get to know him a little better:
1. What’s your earliest memory?
Jumping off a swing at its highest peak in a New York City Park.
2. What is your favorite breakfast cereal?
My favorite breakfast cereal is still Lucky charms.
3. What was your first job?
My first job was the United States Air Force. Three days after graduating High School in 2011, when all of my friends were enjoying Senior Beach Week, I was enjoying basic training.
4. Have you ever met anyone famous?
While living in New York at one point or another, I was probably around someone famous but never paid attention to them.
5. Do you have a favorite charity you wish more people knew about?
The Wounded Warrior Project—The WWP mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors who incurred a physical or mental injury, illnesses, or wound, co-incident to military service on or after September 11, 2001.
6. Have you been pleasantly surprised by anything lately?
Yes, I have been very pleasantly surprised by all the warmth and kindness of the Senior Services staff. There are some truly amazing people in this organization.
7. What are you reading right now?
The Greatest: My Own Story by Muhammad Ali and Richard Durhamy. It is a 1975 autobiography of heavyweight boxer Muhammad Ali, who was three times World Heavyweight Champion and has been called the greatest heavyweight from all eras both in and outside of the boxing ring.
8. If you could pick up a new skill in an instant what would it be?
The skills to work on cars like a NASCAR crew chief so that way I can tune and build my own cars.
9. Have you seen anything lately that made you smile?
Yes. Seeing my daughter smile made me smile.
