Allegacy Federal Credit Union:

Supporting Senior Services and Empowering Our Community

Postings |

Allegacy Federal Credit Union has long been a dedicated partner of Senior Services, Inc., demonstrating a deep commitment to the well-being of older adults in Forsyth County. Allegacy’s mission to serve diverse communities and address the challenges faced by many older adults, such as food insecurity, chronic health conditions, and social isolation, aligns closely with the vital work of Senior Services. Through volunteerism, financial support, and corporate partnerships, Allegacy strives to make a meaningful impact on the lives of local seniors and their caregivers.

Why Allegacy Supports Senior Services

Allegacy’s dedication to enhancing the lives of seniors is grounded in the core values of the credit union: “people helping people.” The credit union has made significant financial contributions, donating $10,000 to support Senior Services programming in the last year alone. However, this philosophy, involvement, and engagement extends beyond just financial giving.

One of the most impactful ways that Allegacy and its staff show support is through volunteer efforts, participating in hands-on experiences that make a real difference in the lives of seniors. Employees deliver Meals-on-Wheels, sort and count donated personal care and household items during the annual Christmas in July and Remember in December item drives, and regularly volunteer to lead activities at the Williams Adult Day Center. Last year, the credit union staff delivered approximately 360 meals and volunteered over 200 hours, providing an economic impact valued at $6,698. This investment of time and resources helps local seniors age with dignity, stay in their homes longer, and live purposeful lives.

The Value of Senior Services to the Community

Senior Services plays a critical role in the Forsyth County community by offering essential programs that help older adults remain independent and engaged. The organization provides resources such as Meals-on-Wheels, adult day services, and caregiver support services, as well as their Help Line that helps the community find resources related to aging in Forsyth County. Senior Services helps allow seniors to age in place and live with dignity. The partnership with Allegacy is a reflection of the broader community’s collective responsibility to ensure that seniors are not overlooked and that they have access to the care and resources they need.

A Long-Term Commitment to Senior Services

Looking to the future, Allegacy remains committed to deepening its involvement with Senior Services. The credit union will continue to volunteer, sponsor key events like the Art Show & Sale benefitting Meals-on-Wheels and the Evening for Alzheimer’s Care, and actively engage in campaigns that benefit seniors. With programs like paid volunteer time for employees, Allegacy will continue to support the essential services provided by Senior Services.

The partnership between Allegacy and Senior Services is a shining example of how corporate support and community involvement can work hand in hand to address the challenges faced by seniors. Through their efforts, Allegacy is helping to ensure that older adults in Forsyth County can age with dignity, live with purpose, and stay connected to their communities.
